Description
Pablo Picasso is considered to be one of the most famous painters in the twentieth century. Picasso also began to produce self-portraits during his youth. One of the earliest of these dates from 1896 and shows the still-boyish artist in his mid teens. The portrait is again executed in the conventional academic manner, its sketch-like, unfinished quality betraying its status as a training exercise. Picasso here appears as a serious-minded and conscientious art student, his close-cropped hair and neatly arranged artist's smock revealing a growing awareness of, and pride in, his own appearance.…… In the style of Pablo Picasso drawing on paper: Self - Portrait, 1896………Measures: 21 x 29.5 cms…………… This item will sell as "in the style of". "In the style of" works points out an influence of the style of the named master artist, but with the connotation that the named creator had little or nothing to do with the actual work at hand.
