Description

An antique moon phase mantel clock, the eight-day movement stamped JUNGHANS striking on the half & full hour, housed within an 18th century 'bell top' style case in burl walnut showing a brass carrying handle, pineapple shaped finials & caryatid mounts, the glazed door fronting a moon phase mechanism over a steel chapter ring with Roman numerals, raised overall upon scrolled brass supports. In running condition at time of cataloguing, but requires servicing, key intact. German, early 20th century. Dimensions, 18.75" h x 12" w x 9" d. Note: In 1903 Junghans were the largest clock making firm in the world.
