Description
Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th to 20th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1070 BCE. A hand-carved steatite bead with elaborate decorations covering each face. The first face features a right-facing wadjet (also wedjat or Eye of Horus) with a large ocular orb staring out at the viewer. The opposite face features a decorative cartouche - bearing a sun disc and a scarab - surrounded by a plethora of miniature hieroglyphs. A suspension hole is drilled lengthwise through the body. Size: 0.61" L x 0.44" W (1.5 cm x 1.1 cm)
