Philadelphia: Robert Bell, 1777 One of 3 printings of Aesop's Fable in Philadelphia in 1777 (priority undetermined). This edition has a long introductory "Essay on Fable," and concludes with an extended "New Life of Aesop" and "Six Oriental Stories, Entertaining and Instructive." No other examples of any of these Aesop editions traced at auction since 1914. Evans 15232; Welch 19.1.
