.303 caliber, serial number 2L8686, walnut stock with serial number stamped below the upper band, and "NZ/42" on the left side of the stock near the receiver, blued finish, marked on the left side of the receiver "No 4 MKI*/LONG BRANCH/1942", bolt marked "NZ/5077", collar marked on the left side "NTZ/5077/2L8686", magazine marked on the bottom "NZ/5077/2L/8686", with a canvas sling, and a Long Branch bayonet marked "NO 4 MK II/LB".
