Description
The original sculpture of the Three Graces, daughters of Zeus, supported a bronze urn that held the ashes of King Henri II of France (1519–59). The King’s widow, Catherine de Médicis, commissioned the monument from Germain Pilon, one of the leading French sculptors of the time. He took inspiration from the Italian Renaissance to form an elegant composition featuring elongated figures. Measuring 13.25" x 6" and signed in cast. Item is shipped from Houston, Tx.
