Perhaps second only to Frederic Remington, Charles M. Russell was famed for his incredible frontier and Native American paintings and sculptures. At an early age Russell left home to quench his thirst for knowledge of the American West, working various ranching jobs and sketching in his free time. Largely self-taught, he was able to successfully market his works to a clientele fascinated by his wild-west narratives. Today, his work is celebrated at the highest levels of collectors of the art of the American West.
