Description

A Magnifique Bazar Francais New York lidded cook pan. Charles Ruegger opened his kitchenware shop, Bazar FranÃ§ais, in 1874 and moved the company to 666 6th Ave. in 1929. It remained at that location until it closed in 1975. In 1929 there was no stigma attached to the number 666. It only became 'verboten' with all the anti-Christian hooey nonsense beginning in the last part of the 20th century. The 666 on Bazar Francais' copper cookware line was only a promotion of the move to the new address. The pan measure 17 1/2 inches at the handles, about 15 inches the body of the pan.
