A Pair of Monumental Gilt and Patinated Bronze and Rouge Marble Figural Torcheres
After the Models by Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse, Early 20th Century
each cast as a classical maiden holding aloft fifteen-light fixtures, raised on marble pedestal bases mounted with ribbon-tied garlands and raised on paw feet.
Height overall 95 inches.
Property from the Estate of Jules and Gwen Knapp, Glencoe, Illinois

Provenance:
Manheim Galleries, New Orleans, 1994 (with images of invoices and several related documents)

Condition

Each in overall fine condition. They are in functioning condition, though Hindman cannot guarantee that the wiring will still work upon arrival and assembly as the top and bottom section of the candelabrum portion will need to have the wiring reconnected for both tiers to work. Few scuffs, marks or scratches consistent with handling and use. Traces of dirt, residue and tarnish to the surface in areas. Condition reports are available upon request. All lots are sold "as is," in the condition they are in at the time of the auction. The physical condition of lots can vary due to age, normal wear and tear, previous damage, and restoration.
