Description
Piero Fornasetti (Italy, 1913-1988), Five Tema e Variazion Lina Plates
each of various depictions of Lina, transfer decorated, including numbers 78, 186, 195, 224 and 312, with original boxes and accompanied by a hardbound edition of Fornasetti, Conversation with Philippe Starck.
10.25 in. diameter
Piero Fornasetti said that Lina Cavalieri’s face was an archetype – a quintessentially beautiful and classic image, like a Greek statue. Lina was a turn-of-the-20th-century opera singer who became known as the "most beautiful woman in the world", and Fornasetti used her image in over 350 designs.
