Description
A Hopi Katsina Doll Holi Katsina With large semi-circular feet and arms carved away from the body. Wearing traditional costume and green case mask with pop eyes, protruding snout and "eagle tail feathers" in place of ears. Provenance: Valley National Bank, AZ, given as a trophy, Five Buy Five Club. Carved by Robert Quotskuyva (1911 - 2003) Oraibi (Kykasmovi Village), AZ. His work can be found the National Museum of the American Indians, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C., Heard Museum, Phoenix, AZ, Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff, AZ; and the Phoebe Hearst Museum, University of California, Berkeley, CA. Height: 6 ¼ inches
