Antique Paul Marcel DAMMANN rare Joan of Arc medal. Artist signature etched to side. Measures approx. 2 x 2 5/8 inches. Possibly silvered bronze. Piece is weighted. Surface wear consistent with age and exposure. Paul-Marcel Dammann was a French engraver and medalist and a student of Jules-Clément Chaplain (Wikipedia). Dammann exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1907, received the Grand Prix de Rome in 1908, a second-class medal in 1914 and a first-class medal in 1921. (British Museum).
