A LARGE PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY SEVRES PORCELAIN MOON FLASK VASES BY PAUL MILET
the Chinese style lapis lazuli coloured porcelain vases of moonflask form and with stylised scrolling handles, the undersides marked 'MP SEVRES' and with retailer label inscribed 'OBJETS D'ART MON. C. LATASTE 28 RUE JUDAIQUE BORDEAUX',

The Milet factory in Sevres was known as the Manufacture Ceramique D'Art, and was first established in 1867 by Felix Optat Milet, Paul's father. Both father and son won gold medals for their work at the international exhibitions, Felix Milet winning at the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle, and Paul at the 1900 Exposition Universelle. Paul's son Henri Milet took over the factory in 1932.
