The bottom point is banded for an acorn effect. The trefoil (three-branch foliage) was a favorite Viking image with spiritual significance. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, and integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface lightly textured from burial and professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold restored, on a modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear.
