Description
Six sterling dresser and pill boxes, comprising an English sterling round machine turned dresser box with a hinged lid, 1909, marked for Wright & Davies, London; an Edwardian pendant change purse, of rectangular form with a monogram, opening to a gold wash interior with a place for two types of coins, by Webster Co. (North Attleboro Ma. 1894); a round English repousse scrollwork makeup container, marked for Birmingham 1900; a circa 1925 round dance or chatelaine compact with engraved striping and a monogram, suspended from a chain, and opening to a round mirror, marked sterling; an oval pill box with an all over repousse swirl design by S. Cottle & Co (New York 1877); and an oval pill box with a repousse musical trophy on the lid, opening to a gold wash interior, marked for J. Kurz & Co. (Hanau, Germany 1848), no fineness mark but likely sterling as they were known for high quality work and the piece tested more than 800. Overall good. Minor scratches, tarnish, the change purse has a tight clasp.
