Description
Two pieces of English sterling, comprising a 1817, George III bread plate by Solomon Hougham (founded 1793), of circular form with a raised floral edge, the interior with four sets of monograms, and the whole resting on three ball feet, together with a muffineer or sugar caster by Thomas William Dobson for Dobson & Sons, 1892, having a domed cover with an urn finial and floral piercing, above a short, inset neck with gadrooned rim and an ovoid bowl with a tooled wavy band, rising on a circular foot, marked underneath 'Dobson Piccadilly 22,' both pieces appropriately marked. Mufineer approx. h. 9.5", dia. 3"; weighing 401 grams Bread plate h..75", dia. 5.75". weighing 176 grams. Total approx. weight 12.12 ozt.
Condition
Muffineer-- minor scratches consistent with light use. Plate- moderate scratching consistent with age and use, (3-5) pit marks underneath.
