Three George II silver mugs
various maker's and dates
Comprising: a silver ½ pint mug, Thomas Rush, London 1741 and another by Benjamin Cartright, London 1759, baluster form, double-scroll handle, one with armorial, both on a stepped circular foot, height 10cm; a one pint silver mug, Robert Makepeace, Newcastle 1731, cylindrical tapered form, double-scroll handle inscribed 'GHM', an applied lower girdle, all on a circular moulded spreading foot, height 12cm; a Victorian silver beaker, Thomas Smiley, London 1869, tapering cylindrical form, with engraved quatrefoil motifs and vertical bands, vacant oval cartouche to the side; and five silver jugs in various styles, including a large silver cream jug by Robert Hennell, London 1859, baluster form, shaped upper rim and flared lip, high split-scroll handle, gilt interior, an embossed body featuring flora and fauna, on three pedestal feet; a cream boat, Emes & Barnard, London 1821, a milk jug by Wakelin & Garrard, London 1800, circular form, gilt interior, one by William Bennett, London 1812, oval form, gadrooned edge, gilt interior, and the final one by Thomas Richards, London 1817, shaped rectangular form, gilt interior, decorative engraving with scrolling foliage and eagles, on a moulded foot, weight 53oz.
