Description
A pair of antique mesa wicker woven plaques by the Hopi people, the larger retaining the remnants of an old tag to the underside noting its origin as the Tusayan Pueblo in northern Arizona. The larger is 18" in diameter, the smaller 14" in diameter.
Condition
Each has an aged appearance, with once colorfully patterned decoration now largely subdued and difficult to distinguish. The smaller plaque is relatively free of small breaks, but the larger has a number of individual reeds that have snapped, particularly at the center. Each remains structurally sound.
