Description
A ceramic molded plate with a ridged cavetto has been fired with a blue transfer of little Mae seated on the doorstep with her cats and dog. There is a Japanese stylized silk ball, birds and flowering tree branches. The design is very endearing and welcoming for children. The foot is glazed, shallow and rounded. There are three tiny pontil marks on the base.
There is the transfer mark STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND in sepia tone in the center of the plate underside.
MEASUREMENTS
6 ¾” (17.1 cm) diameter x 3/8” (.8 cm) tall. Weighs 7.0 oz (200 g)
CONDITION
There are no cracks, chips, or breaks. There is some discoloration on the underside and wear to the central well of the plate. There are kiln flaws, such as transfer smudges, blue dots, reserve pin holes and bumps. The plate is in good entire shape for the age and child’s use.
