Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A pair of molded trefoil bowls with distinctive 3 lobed basins. These are an unusual shape, perhaps effigies of fruits or seed pods. From above, these certainly looks like the cross sectional cut of a lobed bell pepper, a crop Mesoamericans cultivated! One is a highly burnished brownware piece, the other covered in a buff slip. Size: 6.5" Diameter x 3" H (16.5 cm x 7.6 cm)
