According to Sabin, La Harpes Voyages is
“a work that has met with greater success than any other of the same kind; the fidelity of the narration, the striking details of adventures, and the lively pictures of manners, etc., it presents, will always give it a peculiar and lasting merit. Contains all the early voyages of America.”
This volume includes history and description of Captain Cooks third voyage! James Cooks third Pacific voyage, which began in 1776, took Cook and his crew around New Zealand and Hawaii. It includes several folding engravings depicting local tribes and customs.
