Description
1816 RARE 1ed Lost Tribes of Israel Native American Rites Indians Star in West
An incredibly rare and curious religious work by esteemed American statesmen, Elias Boudinot. This work examines the theories regarding the ten tribes of Israel that were exiled following Assyrias conquest of Israel in 722 BC. In the early 19th-century there were rumors and discussion that the North American natives were descendant from ancient Israels ten lost tribes. Thus, this investigative treatise was written to study and inquire about a possible correlation between Native American culture, customs, religious rites, and language with that of ancient Israel.
Prominent American politician, Elias Boudinot served in the Continental Congress and then continued serving once the United States government was established following its independence. Boudinot was one of the first four individuals voted to represent New Jersey in the House of Representatives during the First US Congress and would later be appointed Director of the United States Mint by George Washington himself.
