Description

This is the Banks & Brothers 1888 single volume publication of Sir William Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England: in four books (1118 pages), the second edition of The American Students Blackstone, edited, and with notes by George Chase.
This is in good overall condition, with a tan linen cover which has shallow edge wear and a number of light stains, but no substantial stains. The pasted on leather title and volume labels are cracked but legible, with some missing surface areas (see photo).
The only internal attachment is an interesting bookplate to the front inside cover. The end pages have several stains (see title page photo), and the pages are sunned throughout, but there is no notable fade to the text, all of which is clearly legible. The binding is secure, with no loose or missing pages. One content page has an added strip to its outside border, and there are a few shallow edge chips missing, but there are no deep tears. There are underlines and other notations (see photo)
