Description
Chinese Qing Dynasty copper coins
Condition
Brass. Rare and precious. The origin of the Jiangnan test coin, which appeared in the early days of machine-made coins in China, is not fully understood. There are two possibilities. One is the Jiangnan Mint, which was set up in Nanjing in 1897, with equipment supplied by the British Heydon Mint. Look from the text can know is the sample currency that tries to make by oneself. The other is Shanghai Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau, which also produced machine money in the same year. Wherever it was, the molds were poorly carved and not produced locally. Very rare. This one is in good condition, with only a slight touch. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder.
