18th century A.D. A narrow plain gold finger ring with inscription to the inner face 'No riches to Content' in a florid italic hand, lightly incised 'M P [.]' and maker's mark 'I.H' for John Horsley, a London goldsmith active in the 1760s. 2.08 grams, 20.34 mm overall, 18.32 mm internal diameter (approximate size British Q, USA 8, Europe 17.49, Japan 16) (3/4 in.).
