Oligocene Period, 35-30 million years B.P. A section of fossil Oreodont merycoidodon culbertsoni lower jaw with two teeth; held in a white card collector's tray. 94 grams, 89 mm (3 1/2 in.). From the Brule Formation, White River Formation, Pennington Country, South Dakota, U.S.A. Acquired 1950s-1960s. From an old Bristol paleontological collection. Oreodonts were land-dwelling herbivores with long tails and cloven hooves. [No Reserve]
