Ceremonial "Tapis Kaca" Woman's Tube Skirt, Lampung, Indonesia, Early 20th C. Woven cotton and silk textile in gold, red and brown natural dyes and heavily decorated with embroidery and mica. Tapis kaca are heavily ornamented ceremonial sarongs made and worn by women in the south Sumatran province of Lampung, Indonesia. Ex collection Sheldon Shaeffer. Size: 4'1'' x 2'2'' (124 x 66 cm).
