American Centennial "Rising Sun" Speaker's chair, Late 19th/20th c., American, dark stained mahogany, maroon leather padded arms and seat with brass tack border, the typical Chippendale style chair is decorated with a distinctive half-sun face centered on the crest rail, after the original 1779 chair produced by John Folwell for George Washington, used during the Constitutional Convention of 1787, 49.5"h x 26"w x 20"d, 19"h (to seat)
