Description
1970s Aztec Fertility Goddess Statue - Zarebski Aztec goddess Tlazolteotl statue in malachite composite with wooden base. This statue is based on precolumbian art, showing the Aztec fertility goddess birthing mankind. This statue may be recognizable as it is the basis for the golden idol seen in the exposition of Raiders of the Lost Ark. This fascimile of the controversial "pre-colombian" statue was created in the 1970s by polish sculptor Michael Anthony Zarebski, and sold as a souvenir in Mexico during that period. The wooden base appears to be made of teak. It has some wear and light scuffing, but is overall in good condition. Approximate size: 10" x 6.5" x 6.5" Approximate weight: 6.72 lbs
