Abstract Mixed Media. Dimensions: 24" x 19" Signed. Framed. Angelo V. Rosati received his BS in Art Education from the State University of Buffalo at New York (1950) and a Master's in Fine Arts from Columbia University (1951). Between the years of 1951 thru 1958 Angelo traveled intensely to satisfy his interests in art and the history of art. He studied 19th Century Italian Literature, Etruscan painting and Renaissance painting in Perugia, Italy. He spent time in Mexico and learned silver-crafting. In 1956-1957 he studied Etruscan Culture with Professor Massimo Pallottini, a renowned Etruscan artist and historian, at the University of Rome. In 1958, Prof. Rosati joined the Art Department of Rhode Island College where he nurtured the Department into a vibrant Art Curriculum. He served two terms as the Chairman of the Art Department before retiring in 1985. Rosati was prolific painter and sculpturor, often choosing religious subject matter. In 1964, he spent time at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome studying Advanced Life Drawing and Sculpture. In 1972 fRosati worked at the prestigious Bruni Foundry in Rome, Italy, casting his bronze statues. His Professional Resume is an impressive one as Rosati had over 20 solo exhibitions of his paintings and sculptures during his lifetime. Rosati exhibited widely in Rhode Island, New York City, the National art Exhibit in Washington, D.C., Mexico, and Rome and earned many awards and accolades.
