ALEXANDRA MERKER Pastel Drawing, no apparent inscriptions or markings, subject a bowl of grapes, measures 11 3/4 x 18 inches, folds and tears to piece, not framed, ALEXANDRA MERKER (American, 1920 – 2009) was a mid 20th c. artist. Her work is owned by private collectors world wide, some private collections are found in Marchesa Bosurgi in Rome, Comtesse De Grandfrey in Paris, as well as collections in China, and The United States. She painted throughout the world and was exhibited both Nationally and Internationally. She was a representative of the US in the Festival International de Peinture in France; Galleria San Marco in Rome; and the Riverside Museum in NYC, among others. She has lectured, taught, and organized International, National and local Art Exhibitions. A former President of Lithuanian Artists of Greater N.Y., former vice-president and treasurer of Modern Artists Guild, Bergen, NJ, and listed in the Lithuanian Encyclopedia and Lithuanian World Who's Who. She studied all plastic art mediums at the Art Students League in NYC and was of a lifetime member. She was also Chairman of Painting and Sculpture Exhibition at the N.Y.
