This lot includes the rare two (2) volume set of the Mining Engineers Handbook by Peele, second printing of the third edition 1944. Two thick volumes on Mining Engineering, everything including prospecting, mining, construction, equipment, etc. "Written by a staff of forty-six specialists." State of the art in 1944. Charts, diagrams, illustrations, Each volume indexed, bibliography, extensive engineer's tables. Comprehensive reference. Robert Peele was the Professor of Mining in the School of Mines, at Columbia University. These volumes are red leather bound hardcover, with gold gilt stamped titling on front covers and spines. Very slight scuffing noted to exterior covers and spine, gilt is bright and clean. Intact pages exhibit very slight age taning, foxing not noted. Each volume measures approximately 5.75"W x 8.5"L x 1.75"D respectively.
