North Africa, Egypt & Central Asia, ca. mid-20th century CE. A lovely pair of high-quality sterling silver bracelet cuffs from Egypt and Central Asia. The Egyptian bracelet is hallmarked with assay marks in Arabic and date letter, which are rubbed and soft. This heavy cuff is decorated with a massive rope twist braid across the center flanked by smaller bands, the terminals covered with flattened panels. The other cuff is a broad form comprised of a sterling silver sheet covered with braided wires, the petaloid terminal panels engraved with geometric and linear markings. Both are wearable and in excellent condition. Condition
Wear to surfaces commensurate with age and use. Softening and rubbing to assay and hallmarks on Egyptian cuff. Minor abrasions and dark toning. Bedouin cuff has some minor indentations and softening to braided wires, but intact and very good. Both are wearable.
