Cased Belle Epoque Silver Gilt-Mounted Glass Cordial Set

by Bouclier & Paris, active 1880-1886, Paris, first standard (.950) silver gilt, including a pair of liqueur decanters and twelve cordial cups, the bottles with silver gilt-clad necks and stoppers, the bodies fluted, the cylindrical cups wheel-engraved with foliate banding and fitted in silver gilt bases, the silver gilt elements with reed-and-ribbon banding, presented in the original cream satin- and velvet-lined case as retailed by E. Auber, Paris, the case exterior with gilt-embossed banding en suite with the silver gilt elements, 4-1/2" x 15-1/2" x 9-1/2".

**An attractive set in good condition. The gilding is considerably mellowed. A chip on the stopper on one bottle has been ground down with the silver collar also slightly reduced. Each piece marked with the French "Minerva" head and the Bouclier & Paris maker's mark. The case is likewise in good condition but with understandably more wear, with a few exterior scuffs, some minor discoloration on the interior and fraying to the satin covering the hinge.
