A Rare Pair of Coin Silver Rococo Revival Figural Pedestal Salts
mark of William Gale Jr. and "Sterling" to underside, circa 1866, made in New York, with French swan form import marks to each rim, in the form of a dolphin atop a stepped rocaille form base and supporting a double lipped parcel gilt bowl, each with period "WA" monogram and an armorial crest of a demi lion holding a mullet (star) above the motto Semper Fidelis.
