Members of the Haverstraw Knights of Columbus baseball team participated in the filming and these photos remained in the collection of the photographer, and the Knights of Columbus till this time.  Two of the images have multiple copies with different cropping applied. The total number of pieces is : 12. Photo sizes range from 3 x 5, 5 x7, and 8 x 10 inches.  Provenance Notes: Headin' Home is a 1920 American silent biopic sports film. Advertised at the time as a “ Photo Play “. It was filmed largely in Haverstraw, New York. Ruth stars, playing himself, but the story of his life is fictionalized. In the film, Ruth comes from a small country town and has a loving home life, but in real life, he grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, and spent most of his childhood in a reformatory.   Haverstraw is a town in Rockland County, New York, and the Hometown of the photographer John “ Jack” Courtney, whose family were members of the Knights of Columbus.
