Note: The original painting by George Stubbs was inspired by an incident that took place in 1764, when a cheetah brought to England from India was pitched against a stag in a hunting demonstration at Windsor. This painting is lacking the stag which would have been seen on the left side of the gesturing man, either cut down or left out intentionally.
