Two Chanel Skirt Suits, 1980-90s

After four decades at Chanel, Lagerfeld earned a legacy as a creative force that reinvigorated the heritage label, infusing it with postmodern playfulness while honoring its roots. Equally versed in the languages of popular culture and the craft and traditions of couture, a combination described as 'high fashion and high camp', Lagerfeld's reinvention of the brand and marketing savvy created a voracious appetite among young buyers, sealing the fate of the iconic double CC logo into this century's visual lexicon.  

THE FIRST  
Green tweed two-piece skirt suit including a box cut jacket trimmed with green velvet cord around the collar and center front four pockets, center front five button closure, each button is engraved with a symbol of the house of Chanel including, the Chanel Number 5 bottle and shoes. The jacket is paired with a matching straight-fit skirt with two front facing pockets trimmed in green velvet cord.

THE SECOND
Navy wool blend double breasted suit jacket with peak lapel, two front patch pockets. Chanel logo buttons down the center front of the jacket with matching straight skirt.

Condition:  THE FIRST  The overall condition is good with signs of light wear throughout, light soiling under the arms. The zipper in the skirt appears to have been replaced at some point, not visible when worn. There are two large holes to the lining near the armscyes.THE SECOND  The overall condition is good with light wear throughout, missing logo button at the cuff.    Everything is sold 'As Is'. The stated overall condition of the lot is based on the assumption that the wear is consistent with age and use.
