Description
WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA STENCILED STONEWARE JARS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each approximately one-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, flat-top rounded rims, beaded neck rings. Stenciled cobalt decorations include one example with "From / Hamilton & Jones / Greensboro. Pa", additional cobalt brushed stripes to rim, shoulder, and base, and one example with "HAMILTON AND JONES / GREENSBORO, PA", additional flower ornament to center. Second half 19th century. 9 1/2" HOA.
