Description
NEW ENGLAND FOLK ART THEOREM PAINTING, watercolor on velvet, depicting a farm scene featuring a woman sitting on a stool and milking a cow, and with a child standing next to her drinking from a bowl, a cat lays on the other side on the grass and a dog running towards the group, set in a landscape with greenery and trees, a barn or house to the left and a distant building to the right. Housed under glass in original gilt-molded frame, backing board stenciled "FROM / C.H. PALMER / 13 / FLEET STREET / HAVERHILL MASS". 19th century. 12 1/2" x 10 1/2" sight, 14 1/8" x 12 1/8" OA.

Condition
Very good visual condition with overall toning and some stains, frame with wear, some flakes, chips, losses, and hairlines to molding, re-gilded. Not examined out of frame.
