Carl Schon was a Baltimore based jeweler in the 1920s who became famous for his designs in sterling silver. His most famous designs were detailed depictions of seahorses, however, he also incorporated other works into his repertoire. His company made use of stones and jewelry imported from Europe and created custom designs, often by plating actual seahorses in silver or gold, and then incorporating the customer's name into the piece.
