Description
By Tadatoshi (circa 1770-1840), Nagoya, 19th century. The first, a hako manju of a woven wicker box, the four sides bear a continuous Greek-key design, himotoshi on the underside of unequal size. Signed in ukibori in a rectangular reserve, Tadatoshi. 1?in (4.2cm). The second, a Snail emerging from its shell, the himotoshi formed naturally by a cavity under the foot. Signed in ukibori on the underside in a rectangular reserve, Tadatoshi, very worn. 1?in (3.4cm).
