1960's McIntosh 225 Tube Amplifier Working This McIntosh model MC225 tube amplifier is one of the most beloved tube amplifiers of all time. From the sleek design highlighting the lit tubes on a chrome surface in front of the black backdrop of the transformers, to the warmth of the tone that passes through it, this amp is easily recognized as a monolith in the world of home audio. When we tested this amp, we found no hum or noticeable distortion in the sound, and all of the tubes lit up. There are some areas where the chrome finish has been worn (especially on the edges), and some of the lettering has rubbed off over the years. Overall the cosmetic condition is good, but it is evident that this is a vintage piece, so please see all photos for the best description of condition.
