Description
Upcountry, South Carolina attributed to Union County SC. The excellent sideboard has a block front case with well figured black walnut primary wood and hard yellow pine secondary wood throughout. The case housing two large deep drawers at left and right with one long drawer at center above two smaller drawers all banded nicely with inlay and all resting atop six excellent tapered legs all very nicely inlaid with satinwood and a darker walnut. The piece looks to have its full height and has not been cut down. Very handsome example. No hardware on this piece however the owner kept a bag of pulls which comes with the board and can be matched to fit if so desired. H38" W70 1/4" D24 3/8" The piece is said to have been used at Nuckolls-Jefferies Plantation in Cherokee, County SC. Sold from the collection of Betty and Ralph Jennings of Gaffney, South Carolina.
