Circa 1880, Upcountry, South Carolina Cherokee County, by the Whelchel family. The jar having a nice well potted form with flared body. The piece is brilliantly decorated with iron thistle flower at front of the body. Some wear to the rim and a chip to the backside of the rim otherwise, overall very good condition throughout. No cracks or restoration. H10 3/8" Sold from the collection of Betty & Ralph Jennings of Gaffney, South Carolina.
