Previewed in Brussels to mark the 40th anniversary of Ecurie Francorchams, the 456 was built on a classic tubular steel chassis, while the body was made of aluminium panels. Worth noting is the fact that the parts welded to the chassis were treated with Feran, a material that allowed different metals to be welded together. The large front bonnet, on the other hand, was made of composite material, making the 456 one of the first cars in the world to adopt this construction method. The engine, the classic 65° V12 in light alloy was completely new: known as the Tipo 116 it offered 442 hp at 6200 rpm and offered power and everyday usability.

Delivered new by the Sa.Mo.Car dealership in Rome to its first owner on 27 February 1998, it has remained in the Rome area ever since new, totalling less than 35,000 km to date. This Ferrari is complete with its factory documents and tool bag.

It was last serviced at a Ferrari specialist in November 2018, where it appears the car had covered only 30,326km. In the same ownership since 2001, this 456 is one of the most successful gran turismo Ferraris. The car has never been repainted and is presented in its colour scheme of Blu Tour de France 522. It should be noted that the car has some minor flaws due to use over the years but has never been involved in an accident of any kind. Elegant, pleasant to drive and discreet, it is one of the V12s you absolutely must have in your garage.
