DESCRIPTION: Pont Neuf, Paris. Jan Rubczak (Polish, 1882-1942). Etching, aquatint on paper. Signed lower right. Jan Rubczak was a post-Impressionist painter and engraver. In 1915 he became one of the co-founders of the Societe des Artistes Polonaise. After 1917, he ran his own drawing school in Paris while exhibiting internationally. He later became a member of the Krakow Society of Friends of Fine Arts while teaching in Poland. In 1942 he was caught up as part of a Gestapo raid and was sent to Auschwitz, where he was executed. MEASUREMENTS: 10-1/4" high x 13-1/2" wide; frame 1/2" wide. CONDITION: Even overall toning. MH. IMPORTANT: Before bidding, please read the terms and conditions.
