By Lt. Joseph Warren Revere (grandson of Paul Revere). Published by C.S. Francis & Co., 1849. First edition. Streeter called this "one of the most important books on the Gold Rush." [and they] will be transformed by the evil spirit of avarice...into knaves and men of violence." Overall, this work is a very important account of the Mexican-American War and the Gold Rush. 305 pages plus advertisements. and six lithograph plates sketched by Revere.
