1969 Carmichael Oil On Canvas Mounted On Masonite Board Chickasaw Indian Painting. Signed in center, "Carmichael 69." The painting is marked, "Pinson Indian Mounds 1820, Chickasaw Treaty 1818, Andrew Jackson, James Shelby." The significance of the two dates on the painting: 1818 the Chickasaws were forced from much of West Tennessee and the Pinson Mounds were discovered in 1820 by Joel Pinson, who the community and mounds were later named after. This artist is unknown to us. Measures 20" X 58 5/8". Condition- The painting has stains, discoloration, edge wear, general wear, etc. See photos.
