Description
Greece, Tanagra, Boeotia, Geometric period, ca. 900 to 700 BCE. One of my favorites! A pottery figure in a style instantly recognizable as Greek, created from simple lines to give an abstract but immediately clear representation of a horse. He stands proudly, legs straight and out, tail up, with a highly stylized mane and forelock that instantly calls to mind the Trojan Horse. Size: 5.5" W x 4.3" H (14 cm x 10.9 cm)
